Recently, I posted about being on a 'reading binge.' I get to where I want to do nothing but read, and then I read a bunch of books without stopping to review them. Which leads me to a problem: I get behind on my reviews. My threshold for getting behind is low: if I have any more than three reviews to write, I start to worry. Then, I don't have anything to post because I'm reading and not blogging.
And then I get overwhelmed. This cycle inevitably ends with me calling Natalie, feeling overwhelmed because I am behind and have nothing to post, telling her I'm quitting the blog. She talks me down from the ledge, and I go and spend some quality reviewing time. I remember why I like blogging and decide that I'm not going to let myself get so behind again. I get totally caught up on reviews, then start reading and the cycle starts again.
Which leads me to my questions: Do you review as you read? Or do you let your reviews 'pile up' until you get behind? When do you start feeling behind on reviews?
I review as I read. If I don't review it within a day or so of reading the book than it won't get done. I don't always post my reviews write when I write them, but at least my thoughts on the book are written while it's fresh in my mind.
