Remember Jodelle Ferland aka Bree Tanner? For Halloween she dressed up as Katniss Everdeen (from the Hunger Games Trilogy) and tweeted a picture to her tweeples. She posted this with the picture:

I personally want to see a new face play Katniss. With that said I think Jodelle Ferland is as cute as can be but Eclipse is still to fresh on my mind and she is still Bree Tanner until all the Twilight movies are released.
What do you think?
Is she in the running for Katniss or is she forever marked as a Twilighter?
Who do you think should play Katniss, Peeta and Gale?
Actually, she does have the look of Katniss. I loved her in Eclipse, but since her part was sort of minor in it I don't think people will only remember her Twilight. I mean, look at Robert Pattinson--he's been "marked" by Harry Potter AND Twilight. Why shouldn't Jodelle be "marked" by Twilight and The Hunger Games?

ReplyDeleteHonestly, I've thought about this a lot. Just because the movie is imminent and the books have resonated with me and so many others. I agree though, a new talent should be cast. Katniss is such a distinct character, it would be too hard to picture an established actress in her shoes! Interesting subject!

ReplyDeleteHonestly, she's my favorite option for Katniss. Everyone is throwing out names of people that look nothing like her, but Jodelle looks perfect for Katniss, in my opinion. Plus, she's die hard fan of the series, so that makes me like her even MORE! I've heard actresses begging for the role, and they haven't even read the books. At least Jodelle knows what she's getting into and wants to be a character that she loves. THAT is crucial for the actress who plays Katniss. Also, she played a minor character in Eclipse so I'm not too concerned about that. Besides, it's not like people haven't already compared Twilight and The Hunger Games.

her part in Eclipse as Bree is so small, I think people will easily transfer her from a twilighter to Katniss. She would do a great job. All she needs are some extentions for her hair. :)

ReplyDeleteKatniss is supposed to have that coal mine look. As in OLIVE SKIN. I imagined katniss with a native american look. Not Jodelle.
ReplyDeleteOoooh I really like her, but I don't think she's the best for the role of Katniss. I think that Q'orianka Kilcher from The New World would be perfect though! :)

ReplyDeleteI agree her role was really small in Twilight... I am still on the fence but if I keep hearing options like Megan Fox for the role of Katniss :( I WIlL TAKE FERLAND!
ReplyDeleteThis girl is okay. Not too olive skinned but that can maybe be fixed with makeup. As for Gale, I will have a lot to say about that actor. :)
ReplyDeleteWait are they making this into a movie?? Is this possible?? I have a perfect Peeta in mind... that boy who plays Elena's brother from Vampire Diaries... The grandson of Steve McQueen! Yes him, he looks strong yet gentle enough to play Peeta!

I know this post is kind of old but I just saw the trailer for the movie and I DO NOT like who they chose to play Katniss or Peeta. I think Emma Roberts would have been a great Katniss,and the actor playing Peeta doesn't even have blue eyes!
