Summary (Stop Here if You Haven't Read Evernight yet):
Evernight Academy: an exclusive boarding school for the most beautiful, dangerous students of all—vampires. Bianca, born to two vampires, has always been told her destiny is to become one of them.
But Bianca fell in love with Lucas—a vampire hunter sworn to destroy her kind. They were torn apart when his true identity was revealed, forcing him to flee the school.
Although they may be separated, Bianca and Lucas will not give each other up. She will risk anything for the chance to see him again, even if it means coming face-to-face with the vampire hunters of Black Cross—or deceiving the powerful vampires of Evernight. Bianca's secrets will force her to live a life of lies.
Yet Bianca isn't the only one keeping secrets. When Evernight is attacked by an evil force that seems to target her, she discovers the truth she thought she knew is only the beginning....

Review:
I am really enjoying this series. Evernight was great with that surprise twist halfway through, and Stargazer was even better. I sped through this one in about two hours...wish these books were longer, since they come out only once per year.
I don't like to read about ghosts, but I did okay with The Ghost and the Goth by Stacey Kade, so I think I'll continue on with this series, even though the wraith/ghost addition to the story was pretty freaky for me.
One thing I wished while reading Evernight was that I wanted to get to know Balthazar better, and there is a lot of Balthazar in Stargazer, so that made me happy. I'd have to say that right now, I'm Team Balthazar!
Just One Gripe:
The way Bianca describes the smell, flavor, taste, and texture of blood makes me want to gag.

The Best Thing About This Book:
There's at least one surprise in each book that you least expect. Finding the truth about Courtney was so sad, and the real circumstances surrounding Bianca's birth was a great twist.

Great Review! I gave this book 4/5 stars as well. And I totally agree about the ghosts. For me, those could have been left out entirely. I just read Hourglass a couple days ago. So I really want to hear what you think after that one. Personally, I think I liked it just a bit more than Stargazer.
ReplyDeletei liked this series too but i did not like the way hourglass ended. cant wait to see your review on that one.
ReplyDeleteFirst time I hear of this serie. You always have interesting new books for me to discover... Adding it to my TBR list.
